The Latest in Diagnosis: Baby Babbling?

A research study out of the University of Memphis has developed a computer program that has potentially identified differences in the speech patterns of typical and autistic babies and children. Since early intervention is a key to success with children on the Spectrum, the potential to identify a child as Autistic before the tell-tale speech delay would be monumental.

Daniel wasn’t diagnosed until he was 8 and there is a little guilt for me that I didn’t push harder and get answers sooner. I hope that it will be easier for other parents to follow their gut instinct.
