From: Life with Aspergers: The Drug Bandwagon

I regularly read the blog, Life with Aspergers. I appreciate that the man writing the blog not only is dealing with the syndrome himself but is also raising children on the spectrum. He also is pretty balanced and easy to read.

Recently, I enjoyed his article “The Drug Bandwagon” where he discusses the use of drugs to treat some of the more difficult symptoms found in children on the spectrum. I like his recommendation to test drugs carefully. Like he recommends, I also agree that even if a drug “works”, you still have to weigh the pros and cons and continue to be aware of the side effects/benefits balance over the long term. I believe this is a pretty well balanced perspective on a controversial issue.
